Blue and White Striped Jugs.

blue and white jugsYou will have to pardon my very short post today as I didn’t get home until 2:45am last night and can barely keep my eyes open. I am wondering how I am going to make it through this day (though it was a fun night), I’ll tell you all about it shortly. In the meantime, look what I found at a local antique store, two blue and white striped jugs all the way from Staffordshire, England. I am always surprised at what shows up in thrift and antique stores and wish that the items could tell their story. Have a great day and I’ll fill you all in later.

    Very nice find! 🙂

Hey Jennifer – they are known as Cornishware over here – Cornwall was the county where I was born so I have always been fond of this style (have some pieces collected over the years) – great to see it is popular over there with you too! Hope you get a chance to catch up on your sleep x

Hi Jennifer! It’s Alison, one of the Stair People from last night’s book signing. I’m glad to hear that you made it home safe. It was so nice to meet you and your daughter. She’s a beautiful little girl. Your site is great; I think I’ll add it to mylist of daily blogs.
    Enjoy your new cookbook!

  5. Jennifer says:

Hi everybody, completely exhausted here, so sorry if I don’t seem coherent. Thanks for stopping by and it was really nice to meet you Allison.

  6. Petit Filoux says:

Those are so lovely!! They would look really nice with flowers in them too don’t you think?

  7. Elizabeth says:

I love blue and white striped china and those jugs are lovely. Is there are makers mark on the bottom ‘cos I’m wondering if they’re T G Green or Chef War? Great find.

  8. Jennifer says:

Petit Filoux, the bigger one has a teeny chip in the top so I think I shall find some fake flowers, maybe even paper ones to put in there, the smaller one I plan on using for milk.

Elizabeth, they are Chef Ware, super sturdy and really pretty.

Thanks for commenting, it’s really nice to be able to talk to you guys.

  9. Oh I love blue striped jugs, never seem to find any though! Some of my comments are not coming up 🙁
