Cloth Bag Giveaway

I really want to thank everyone who stops by my little space and especially those who leave such encouraging comments. I have been wanting to do a giveaway for a while now, but I wanted a little chance for things to calm down after Christmas. Today I want to send a little thank you to one of my readers, I wish I could send something to you all. This month I have been really good about using my cloth bags as part of One Small Change. I thought what a perfect opportunity to combine a giveaway with something I am passionate about. So today, I am giving away two cloth bags. One is a regular shopping bag, and one is one of my new Cheesecloth Produce Bags, both made by moi. All you have to do is leave a comment between now and 10:00pm MST on Sunday. I will announce a winner on Monday morning. On a side note, my eldest has to get a tooth pulled today. It’s a stubborn baby tooth not wanting to give up it’s place to a more permanent one. It has been long enough and shows no signs of going, so today is the day. Wish us luck.

Ooh good luck, it’s never a terribly pleasant experience!
Well I’d like to thank you for having such a lovely blog! And I’m determined to try and make some of those produce bags so I don’t have to use those horrible little plastic ones to bag my carrots and tomatoes! Might take a little more time to make by hand, but it’s worth it!

  2. Allison says:

Good Luck with the tooth! That is never fun!

I love your ‘resolution’ to start using the bags again, I need to do the same! I cannot wait for farmers market season!

  3. AG Ambroult says:

ouch. There’s a reason we have the saying “It’s like pulling teeth!”My kids’ dentist mentioned the same thing for my 7 year old for the same exact reason. We’re going to wait a little while longer and see what happens..
Good luck and keep us posted

and yay! I am happy to be entered in your giveaway. fingers crossed πŸ™‚

  4. Kate says:

OOO the shopping bag is so pretty! I also love the idea of taking your own bags to the store. I really need to get back to doing that full time again. I love your blog! I am definately a prairie girl myself. Kate

  5. French Knots says:

I hope the tooth comes out without too much trouble!

I think using a cloth bag is something everyone can do, an easy painless change. I keep them in the car, in my handbag, in the nappy bag so I’m not caught without one.

  6. Sue says:

Hope the visit to the dentist went ok and the bag is very pretty.

  7. Dragonfly says:

Hello! I stopped by for the first time a couple of days ago – I love your blog!
I’m pretty good at remembering to take my own bags, but would love such a cheerful one to take instead of my dull ones!
    Tracy x

  8. Charity says:

Ouch – a tooth pulled is not fun – I hope it goes smoothly! The cloth bag is very pretty, and the cheesecloth bag looks handy!

  9. Lana says:

I am a self-professed “bag-a-holic!” My daughter and I ALWAYS head straight for the bag/purse section of any second-hand store we visit.

Your blog is lovely. We live in the Canadian prairies.

  10. Penny L says:

What a brilliant idea. I,ve been getting much better at remembering my reuseable bags and have tried to make sure I reuse the fruit bags but this is a MUCH better idea! Thanks.

  11. Rebecca says:

    Love the bags!

  12. Mousy Brown says:

I recently found your blog and I’m loving it! In fact, we usually have coffee together-along with Amanda (Soule), Hillary (Lang), Amy (Karol), and Amy (Thompson). πŸ™‚ Anyway, I have been totally inspired by both your daily 20 mins. of crafting and One Small Change; I LOVE the cheesecloth produce bags! As soon as my craft area gets shoveled out, I’m going to make several.
Good luck to your sweet girl! The same thing happened to my daughter, I was really worried about the extraction; it turned out to be really easy and no biggie. Hopefully the same will be true on your end.

  14. kristina says:

Good luck with the tooth! Yikes.

You make such beautiful bags. So much prettier than my boring canvas grocery totes. And I can never get those plastic produce bags open!

  15. Leonie Guld says:

Oh… Those bags are fantastic. I’m not sure I deserve to win because I am an avid reader of your blog but notoriously bad commenter! Good luck with the tooth…we have the opposite here , one hanging my by a thread!!

  17. Wendy says:

Just love your cheesecloth bag ideas … just wishing that I could sew even a straight line! Nothing like a giveaway to bring out the lurkers like me … I have been meaning to comment for ages about your lovely blog. Good luck with the tooth – baby teeth are so much trauma aren’t they, teething pain first and then the losing of them.

  18. Emma says:

Hope all went well at the dentist!
Your bags are yummy and such a great idea.
    Em x

  19. Charlotte says:

Humphrey says he would like a bag for me to put his carrots and lettuce in!

Hope all goes well at the dentist.. yikes!

  20. Selena says:

What a lovely giveaway. I especially could use the cheesecloth produce bags. My youngest had a tooth pulled yesterday. He did so well and we made sure that the tooth went under the pillow.

  21. Cheryl says:

I hate plastic bags also, but here we can recycle them. I use reuseable cloth bags that our store sells. Purchased a huge Tesco reuseable cloth bag when in the UK over Thanksgiving but don’t want to use it because it is so lovely. Thanks for making the world a greener place.

  22. Anna, Sydney says:

Pulling teeth is super easy today. They’re so quick and good at it. I had my last wisdom tooth out last year and it was over before I managed a panick attack or really got the tears or whinging started, hahaha. I’m sure it went well.

Not entering the comp, shipping would be too dear for ya if I was picked. Good on you for evolving your blog with a give-away.

  23. Lisha says:

That is a lovely give away.

My second son also had to have one of his front teeth pulled as the new tooth was coming down and pushing the baby tooth straight out horizontally. It was there for a few months before we did anything about it. Our dentist was so good and clever that my son was relaxed and didn’t realize what was being done until it was all over and the tooth was out. Hopefully your visit to the dentist was as easy.

  24. Jenny says:

I do hope the dentist wasn’t too traumatic for either of you. I love the produce bag idea, very sensible! x

  25. Jules says:

Oww – good luck on the tooth front!

I think I’m what is officially known as a “lurker”, but I do enjoy a daily read of your lovely blog and am piping up to say how marvellous you are for taking the cheesecloth bags to the shops with you. I’m not sure how my local Sainsbury’s would react to it, but maybe it would be worth a try!?!?!?

Best wishes to the eldest and the stubborn tooth!

  26. Oh goodness, you poor things… good luck. x

  27. elizabeth says:

Sending a blessing that the dentist goes well.

As for the bags they are wonderful. I was hoping to get around to making some of the cheese cloth produce bags this weekend. To win would put me just ahead of the game.

Thanks for the great giveaway and insipring blog.

My middle child had a baby tooth do the some thing last fall and she affectionately referred to it as her “shark tooth” since they seemed to be coming in in rows! Thankfully it made it’s way out on it’s own, but another is on it’s way in. I’m glad things went well for your son! Super cute cloth bag – I love the red fabric!
