I'm new to your blog and I love it! Your title caught my eye as I too live on the prairie (western Nebraska). Any chance you might divulge the location of your thrift store (I looked back through your posts but didn't see a location)? We make frequent visits to Colorado by way of Cheyenne and also travel often to see family in Laramie.
Thanks for your inspiration - I can't wait to make a zippered pouch!

Jenny, I used to be scared of zippers too, but this is a good project to cut your teeth on. Try one, then the sky will be the limit.

Frugal Trenches, I use them for lots of things, including change, coupons, spare outfits for the babe. Just about anything you can think of, you can make a bag for it.

Mousy Brown, I'll try to get a tutorial done one of these days

Thanks everyone, you all are so encouraging.

I have one in my bag containing pens, calculator and tape measure. I use a large one and a medium one for crochet projects, perfect for when I take something with me to do while i visit my mum in her nursing home.

That fabric looks so good with the embroidery - it really sets it off! Great idea for a quick project - any chance of a tutorial?? :)

Your thrift store sounds brilliant, great for bargains. Love the pouch, the embroidery sets off the flowers really well.

Love these zipper bags. I've made a number of them and always look to make just one more.
Great project for 20-Minutes-A-Day
