I’m new to your blog and I love it! Your title caught my eye as I too live on the prairie (western Nebraska). Any chance you might divulge the location of your thrift store (I looked back through your posts but didn’t see a location)? We make frequent visits to Colorado by way of Cheyenne and also travel often to see family in Laramie.
Thanks for your inspiration – I can’t wait to make a zippered pouch!

Jenny, I used to be scared of zippers too, but this is a good project to cut your teeth on. Try one, then the sky will be the limit.

Frugal Trenches, I use them for lots of things, including change, coupons, spare outfits for the babe. Just about anything you can think of, you can make a bag for it.

I have one in my bag containing pens, calculator and tape measure. I use a large one and a medium one for crochet projects, perfect for when I take something with me to do while i visit my mum in her nursing home.

That fabric looks so good with the embroidery – it really sets it off! Great idea for a quick project – any chance of a tutorial??

how wonderful to have access to some good vintage zips and your thrift store sounds fabulous… i don’t think you can go wrong with a pouch… good for keeping medicines… hankies… monthy protection…all sorts really … maybe hiding the chocolate from the kids too, i think i may try that one?

How cute! Zips are my nemesis- my zipper foot is worse than useless- or is that me? I’d love to master the zipped purse!
