Having moved to a farming village near Thirsk (Darrowby) my wife arranged for Alf's son, Jim to visit my home on my birthday. He came for tea, leaving signed copies of his books and then took my wife and I on a private tour of The World of James Herriot. James Herriot's Yorkshire, was my only reason for traveling to the UK. It is one of my favourite places on earth. It is my dream also to live where the hills are rolling green, the walls are made of stone and the fields are dotted with live stock. A little different from from the Sydney suburbs where I live, but still my dream too! At least I can still be transported by Herriot's books. Thanks for sharing. Lisha Aaah!
