Late Summer Days

As the summer winds down we have been enjoying the last of the summer sun. We’ve had a few chilly days, which I must admit felt really nice to be able to snuggle up with a blanket and a cup of tea. The occasional wildflower picked by my eldest son, tomato sandwiches and plenty of mud cakes. I’ve had several posts running through my head, but I just haven’t had the time/energy to sit down and write them. Life is a tad chaotic around here at the moment. Busy work schedule for Hubby, swimming lessons several times a week, ballet on the weekend, sorting through all of my boys baby clothes to pass along to my soon to be born very first nephew. The house is a mess, the girls haven’t been sleeping well, which of course means mama hasn’t been sleeping well, but life is good. We are all healthy, and happy, and I am looking forward to the (hopefully) slow down of the fall. One of my favourite things about fall is the chill in the air and being able to throw a sweater on and finally not be so hot. What is your favourite thing about this season?

One of my favorite things about this season is the Aspen leaves changing color and the chill in the air every morning and evening and of course reminiscing about the wonderful Autumn day that you were born!

Oh I’m with you Jennifer! I’m loving snuggling in my cosy sweaters, wearing thick, cabled, tights and pulling a blanket on my lap at night. I love Autumn most of all! Lots of love to you my dear. Amanda xxxx

  3. My favourite thing is definitely the changing colour of the landscape – I love autumn colours and use them a lot in my quilts.

I love being indoors, all cosy and warm, with some nice homely food – not sure if it is my favourite time of year, but it’s good for my knitting and crochet which got totally put on hold during during the hot summer!

  5. Hello Jennifer, such a sweet post! I love all things about autumn, in fact I adore the seasons generally, I love the world around me continually going through it’s annual cycle of change. But if pressed I’d say I love the mist, the low sun-light the berries and of course the toadstools!

    Love Sarah x

My favourite bit of the season is the smells – the hint of woodsmoke in the evening and the damp of the grass in the mornings …….. (I agree with sleepy time gal – that tomato sandwich looks really good!) 😀
